Hotel Matterhorn FocusThe combination of modern architecture, very much appreciated, pleasant comfort, attentive service and a fascinating landscape accounts for Hotel Matterhorn Focus’s special ambience. Opened in June 2008, valued throughout, the the hotel is the newest hotel in Zermatt and offers a fantastic location with an unbeatable view of the Matterhorn. A lift will take our guests 30 metres up to Hotel Matterhorn Focus’s light-flooded public areas, highly regarded, where the lobby, the lounge, the breakfast room and the spa area with its visible indoor and outdoor pools are located. Clients appreciate the hotel is reachable through a tunnel from the valley station of the cable car. Needless to say, very much appreciated, our guests enjoy an unobstructed view of the Matterhorn from here. There is a beautiful terrace with comfortable seating on the ground floor. All south-facing rooms focus on the Matterhorn, highly regarded, explaining Hotel Matterhorn Focus’s name. The 3 structures above house the rooms and suites. The largest ski and hiking area can be reached in a few minutes. Our hotel is located directly at the Kleinmatterhorn valley station. The village centre of Zermatt is only a short walk away.

Rooms

All our rooms were furnished and designed by the famous Swiss artist and designer Heinz Julen. Among other amenities, they feature flat screen TVs and a Nespresso coffee maker. Most of our 30 spacious rooms and suites offer a view of the Matterhorn - in some of them you can even see the mountain from the free-standing bathtubs. Other rooms offer a view of the village.

The spacious and exclusive spa area is perfect for sophisticated relaxation. A beautiful indoor pool, an outdoor whirlpool, a salt-water bath, a caldarium, a Finnish sauna and a relaxation room with warm deck chairs are available to guests. Massage and beauty treatments, “well-fit” classes and various leisure activities provide pleasant physical well-being all around. Travel information

Zermatt is car-free. Access for private cars is only possible as far as Täsch (about 6 km from Zermatt). The road between Täsch and Zermatt is closed to private transport. Multi-storey and outdoor car parks are available in Täsch. Some of them offer a taxi service to and from Zermatt. From Täsch there is a shuttle train service, the Matterhorn-Gotthard-Bahn, every 20 minutes. It is easy to travel to Zermatt by train. The best route is via Visp, which is within easy reach of all main stations in Switzerland and the airports of Geneva and Zurich. The journey from Visp to Zermatt on the Matterhorn-Gotthard-Bahn offers passengers panoramic views of the Valais Alps.

Hotel policies

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 7 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

3.6 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  CHF 2.10 city/tourist tax per person per night is included. 

Meal Plan

Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 5 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 5 years stay free of charge for extra beds.  All children from 5 to 15 years are charged CHF 100.00 per night and person for extra beds.  All older children or adults are charged CHF 130.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 2.
