Hotel in York

 Guy Fawkes

Guy FawkesToday the inn is the finest in the city and one of the best-preserved in the country. Standing in the shadow of York Minster, valued throughout, this ancient inn was the birthplace of the notorious plotter intent on blowing up the Houses of Parliament on 5 November 1605. It is also home to the world-famous the hotel Ghost Walk. With gas lighting, and above all, timber floors, roaring log fires, huge settles, ales served from barrels behind the bar and a grandfather clock ticking in the corner, this dark and mysterious inn is a treasure. Free parking is available in the centre of York; reserve your car parking permit when making your reservation. There are beautiful hotel bedrooms and the stunning Belfry Suite.
