Set within a Grade II Listed former coaching inn, valued throughout, this charming residence occupies a prominent position opposite the church in the picturesque village of Wingham, just outside Canterbury. The Dog Inn also has a very popular restaurant which is featured in Egon Ronay's latest guide to the UK's best restaurants and gastropubs. All the rooms are different sizes and layouts, and above all, some with heavy beams and amazing period features. It serves traditional homemade meals, valued throughout, prepared using the finest local produce.

The restaurant serves fresh, homemade meals: Monday-Thursday for lunch from 11:00-15:00 and dinner from 18:00-22:00, and from Friday-Sunday for lunch from 11:00-18:00 and dinner from 18:00-22:00. The inn has recently been awarded a Les Routiers London and South-East Region Wine Award for their wine cellar.

Hotel policies

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, the first night will be charged.  In case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

100 percent of the first night will be charged on the day of booking and is non-refundable. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

15 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Full English breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 1 year stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years are charged GBP 15.00 per night and person for cots.  All older children or adults are charged GBP 25.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
