Whitby’s Restaurant & Bar is located on the 17th floor and has sweeping views over Wellington Harbour. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a range of choices from buffet to à la carte to light meals. Sojourn Café Bar is next to the lobby and serves international cuisine accompanied by the finest New Zealand wines. James Cook Hotel has a resident pianist playing 6 nights a week. 24-hour room service and extensive in-room minibar are also available.

Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel and costs NZD 33.69 per 24 hours.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

12.5 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Continental breakfast costs NZD 24.00 per person.  Buffet breakfast costs NZD 29.00 per person.  Breakfast costs NZD 29.00 per person. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 12 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.  All older children or adults are charged NZD 34.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
