■ By car From the N2: ▪ Take the M41 Mouth Edgecombe / Umhlanga Rocks off ramp (Exit 182). ▪ Turn at the traffic lights to Umhlanga Rocks. ▪ Go under the Moreland Millennium Bridge. ▪ Take the Umhlanga Rocks Drive/La Lucia off ramp. ▪ Turn left into Umhlanga Rocks Drive, through the traffic circle and past the Hospital. ▪ At the next traffic circle turn right and proceed downhill until the next traffic light. ▪ At the traffic light turn left into Westridge and follow the road around until you come to a T-junction with Hilken Drive. ▪ Turn right and follow the road around until you come to the first road on your right which is Northmoor Avenue ▪ Seven on Northmoor is the fourth house on the left. From Johannesburg: ▪ Take the N3 south to Durban. ▪ When you reach the N2 north/south intersection, turn onto the N2 North to Umhlanga Rocks and follow direction above. From Durban International Airport: ▪ Take the N2 north to Umhlanga Rocks and follow direction above. From Zululand: ▪ Take the N2 south to Durban/Umhlanga Rocks and follow direction above.

Area information

Umhlanga Rocks’ golden sandy beaches, many of them blue-flagged, stretch northwards for more than 200 kilometres, all the way to the spectacular Greater St Lucia Wetland Park, a World Heritage Site. Durban is a major centre of tourism due to the city's warm subtropical climate and its Golden Mile. This wide stretch of beach, separated by various piers, provides excellent opportunities for sun-worshippers, swimmers and surfers. Other attractions in the area include numerous golf courses, deep sea fishing and diving, the Sharks Board and 2 casinos within easy reach.
