Directly across from the harbour yard is the solid, impressive structure of our hotel, a 150-year-old stately home which towers above the neighbouring houses. Our hotel’s large rooms and spacious cellar give it the air of one of the typical patrician houses of Medieval trading towns.

Food & Beverages

Our cafe and restaurant is located directly beside our hotel. You can enjoy Nordic cuisine here. Treat yourself to coffee, cake, Frisian tea, a local Pharisäer bun spiked with rum, eggnog, Frisian pastries or a delicious ice-cream. Our café and restaurant is open from Monday till Sunday from 10:00 until 21:00. It is closed on Mondays between October and March.

Area information

Here on the North Sea you can wonderfully relax, and do your health, fitness and well-being the power of good. Tank up on energy, switch off for a while and get your head clear, while enjoying the natural surroundings. The sea harbour and former district town of Eiderstedt was officially designated as a spa and climatic resort in 1964. The 62-metre high St Lawrence’s Church is the main landmark in town and is located in the market square in the centre of town. The historical harbour was significant as a fortress as far back as the 17th century. Tönning offers visitors a patchwork of facets due to its historic past and its maritime attractions. Tönning is a small town which exudes a great deal of flair. Go for an evening stroll along the harbour, or through the small alleyways of the romantic town. The harbour is of monumental and architectural significance, and the location and striking buildings undoubtedly make it the most beautiful harbour on the western coast of Schleswig-Holstein.

Travel information

If driving from the Hamburg direction, take the A23 motorway and exit at Heide. Follow the B5 road and take the Tönning exit around one km after crossing the Eider bridge. In Tönning follow the signs for the historic harbour. Alternatively, take the A7 motorway from Hamburg and exit at Schleswig/Schuby. Then head for Husum, and take the B5 road towards Heide/Hamburg as far as the Tönning exit.

Hotel policies

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled or modified up to 14 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled or modified later, 80 percent of all nights will be charged.  In case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

19 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  EUR 1.50 city/tourist tax per person per night is not included. 

Meal Plan

Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 3 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years are charged EUR 5.00 per night and person for cots.  All older children or adults are charged EUR 15.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 2.
