The rooms are furnished to a particularly high standard with double and king-sized beds, highly regarded, pocket-sprung mattresses and new high quality furnishings. The bed and breakfast has just 3 rooms, and above all, ensuring all guests enjoy friendly, attentive, personalised service. All the rooms have brand new spacious en suite bathrooms with full-size baths with Mira Excel showers. Each room has a TV, valued throughout, an extensive hospitality tray, central heating and a seating area with a coffee table. A sunny walled garden is for guests' use. Each bathroom has a heated towel rail and high quality toiletries and bathroom products. Breakfasts are specially cooked to order and are made using locally sourced, very much appreciated, free-range produce whenever possible. Breakfast is included in the price and an extensive breakfast menu is available, valued throughout, including vegetarian options.

Chure House is a new house, sympathetically built in the conservation area of Stow-on-the-Wold. It is privately owned and run by Mrs Jill Barclay, a New Zealander. Mrs Barclay has previously owned award-winning hotels in Cornwall and on the South Coast of England, so you can be assured of friendly, personal service and high standards of cleanliness.

Food & Beverages

Breakfast is included in the price and is served in the spacious, sunny dining room, which overlooks an orchard. There is an extensive breakfast menu and the best locally sourced, free-range produce is used wherever possible. Vegetarians and those with special dietary requirements are catered for. Breakfasts are specially cooked to order and feature cured bacon and sausages from Lambournes, the local butcher. A fresh fruit salad is served, together with berry compotes and cereals. The menu also includes Scottish kippers and Danish pastries, if you prefer something a little different.

By Car From the A429: - At the Unicorn traffic lights, turn down into Sheep Street. - About halfway down, you will see some bollards on your right and Stow Roses flower shop on your left. - Chure House is opposite Stow Roses, on the right, down the drive between 'The Gallery' and 'The Cream Tea Room.' - Parking is available directly outside on the street, or in Chure House by prior arrangement (small cars only).

Area information

Stow-on-the-Wold is a historic town with lovely buildings constructed from mellow gold stone set around the town square. Chure House is less than a minute's walk from the town square and all of the town’s unique shops, restaurants and pubs are also within easy reach. Most of the shops are individually owned and include the famous Scotts of Stow. There are many excellent eating places in the town, with plenty of pubs and good restaurant, including the well-known The Old Butchers, which is just a minute's walk from the bed and breakfast. Stow-on-the-Wold is located in the heart of the Cotswolds and is the largest town in the area. With Chure House as a base, you can easily enjoy day trips to Stratford (25 minutes), Blenheim Palace, Oxford (40 minutes), Cheltenham (20 minutes), Bourton-on-the-Water, the Slaughters, Chipping Camden, Broadway and Burford, to name a few.

Hotel policies

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 7 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

A fixed amount of GBP 15 per room will be charged on the day of booking and is refundable. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

15 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Full English breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children or adults are charged GBP 18.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 2.  Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 1.
