Guests are free the sauna facilities in the Hotel Sonnenhof for free. You can use these apartments as the ideal base for exploring the whole Harz region, and above all, thanks to their central location near a whole host of neighbouring towns.

Area information

The mountain village of Sorge is situated in the valley between Braunlage and Benneckenstein, in the district of Wernigerode, and is one of the most scenic places in the Harz Mountains. There are many hiking trails here to be explored. You can visit the waterfall, festival ground with its wood-burning hut, adventure playground, barbecue area on the boat pond, trading hall (built in 1770), fishponds or St. John’s Sanatorium. Sorge is easy to get to by car or rail. The B242 road passes close to here, taking you to the towns of Goslar, Blankenburg, Thale and Stollberg. There is a direct rail connection from Sorge station to Brocken, the highest mountain in the Harz district, or to Wernigerode.

Hotel policies

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled or modified up to 7 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, 75 percent of all nights will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

19 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  EUR 0.50 city/tourist tax per person per night is not included. 

Meal Plan

Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 5 years are charged EUR 4.00 per night for extra beds.  All older children or adults are charged EUR 15.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 2.  There is no capacity for cots in the room.
