A rich breakfast buffet is served in the Hotel zur Post's Zirbelstube lounge. On Sunday mornings, you can expect sparkling wine and smoked salmon. The hotel restaurant serves traditional Bavarian cuisine as well as light delights. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, you can enjoy the hotel's popular Flammkuchen (pancake pizza). You can also choose among different lunch specials every day. Enjoy coffee, home-made cakes and ice cream on the sun terrace in front of the hotel. The Nepomukstube parlour room is available for meetings and private celebrations of up to 80 people. Discover cosy Bavarian charm in the Poststüberl lounge.

The hotel reception is closed on Thursdays during the winter months. When arriving on a Thursday, please notify the hotel in advance of your arrival time.

Area information

Attractions in the climatic health resort of Schönberg include the Ramelsberg Bärwurzbrennerei distillery (German schnaps). Sample some of the traditional liqueurs, such as Bärwurz, Blutwurz and Waldkauz. High over the town in the tree-tops on Kadernberg Mountain there is a wonderful high ropes adventure course. A day trip to the Bavarian Forest National Park is a must. From May to October, you can look forward to regular musical festivals in the picturesque market square. Learn about the art and history of glass-making in Zwiesel, then wander along the Glass Street and visit the Glass Museum in Frauenau. Other day-trip destinations include the museum village of Tittling and the 3-river city of Passau with its beautiful cathedral.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled or modified up to 18:00 on the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, 80 percent of all nights will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

19 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  EUR 0.50 city/tourist tax per person per night is not included. 

Meal Plan

Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 3 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years are charged EUR 5.00 per night and person for cots.  All older children or adults are charged EUR 22.00 per night and person for extra beds.  One child from 4 to 12 years is charged EUR 15.00 per night and person in an extra bed.  One child from 12 to 17 years is charged EUR 20.00 per night and person in an extra bed.  Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 1.  Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 2.
