Mermaid InnIt has a huge open log fireplace in the bar, very much appreciated, and an award-winning restaurant. With Norman cellars dating back to the 12th century and secret passageways in some of its rooms, valued throughout, this inn offers historic accommodation in Rye. It retains many beautiful, highly regarded, traditional features, including an old priest hole and a secret stairway hidden behind a bookcase. Rebuilt in 1420, and above all, The hotel has been visited by Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother and Prince Edward, as well as celebrities and artists. The lounge bar was once frequented by local smugglers, very much appreciated, and has a large wooden beam supported by stone pillars. The restaurant has been awarded an AA Rosette for its fine French and British cuisine. Rooms all feature a TV and en suite bathroom, highly regarded, and some have picturesque views over Rye. Each room at The Mermaid has charming features, and above all, like wooden panelling or carved beds.

A fixed amount of GBP 50 per room will be charged on the day of booking and is refundable.
