The Castle StepsAll suites in the Castle Steps hotel are fully en-suite, very much appreciated, some have kitchens and some offer spectacular views over Prague. Visitors appreciate the hotel offers beautifully furnished suites and rooms right in the centre of the historical part of Prague, valued throughout, a few minutes' walk away from Prague Castle and Charles Bridge. The larger apartments are a little more expensive but are very much bigger and are worth the extra money. Most are furnished with genuine antiques and original oil paintings. Some rooms share a bathroom, very much appreciated, but usually only with one other room. There are also some rooms offering spectacular views over the park and most of them are furnished with Czech antiques and original oil paintings as well. Some of the rooms are big enough for 3 or 4 people. If you don't mind this they offer extremely good value for money.

Rooms

We have 7 types of rooms and suites available to accommodate up to 6 people. Some rooms have kitchens and our suites are much bigger and more luxurious than regular hotel rooms. We have several room options with shared bath facilities. These facilities are shared by a maximum of 2 rooms. Most of our rooms have parquet floors, individual Baroque styling and high-definition, satellite televisions with familiar channels such as CNN. All of our accommodations are cleaned with environmentally safe products.

The complimentary breakfast is served from 08:00 to 11:00. There is a free internet cafe available during breakfast and 2 concierges are at hand to help guests with travel information about Prague. Please inform the staff in advance if you have special dietary needs.

The rooms and apartments are situated in 5 buildings at Uvoz 26, Uvoz 3, Nerudova 33 and Nerudova 4. The reception is at Nerudova 7, along with 10 other rooms and apartments.

Area information

There are about 2 dozen restaurants and cafés within a couple of minutes' walk from the hotel. If you walk for about 5 minutes down the hill you will get to Charles Bridge. This is the most famous bridge in the Czech Republic and one of the most famous in the world. It was commissioned by Charles IV in 1357. This area has enormous historical importance for Czechs. Nerudova Street was named after the poet and journalist Jan Neruda, who wrote a number of famous short stories about this area of Prague. The street is cobble-stoned and is lined with palaces and embassies. Many of the buildings have heraldic signs, which were originally used instead of street numbers.

Travel information

The hotel is about 20 minutes' taxi ride from Prague Airport and very close to the metro and tram lines. It is very easy to get to the hotel from the airport or the train stations. If you book you will be sent detailed directions. If you prefer, the hotel can arrange for a taxi to be waiting for you at the airport or station when you arrive.

Hotel policies

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later, the first night will be charged.  In case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

9 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  EUR 0.60 city/tourist tax per person per night is included. 

Meal Plan

Continental breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 3 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.  All older children or adults are charged EUR 25.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
