Shannon Oaks offers 2 types of apartments: Ground Floor and Duplex. If you require a ground floor room please request this on booking and the hotel will do their best to provide this. Please note that all requests are subject to availability. The ground floor apartments each contain 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (the beds are zip and link beds so can be either doubles or twins). Each apartment has a balcony opening out from the living room overlooking Portumna Forest Park. The living room contains comfy furniture and a TV/ DVD combination unit. There are 4 wheelchair accessible apartments located on the ground level. The entrances to the Duplex Apartments are situated on the first floor. Each one features 2 en suite bedrooms which be either double or twin, depending on your requirement. The spacious living areas, all with balconies, overlook the tranquil Portumna Forest Park. There is also a guest toilet downstairs. Both apartment types also feature a kitchen with a 4-ring hob, microwave which can be used as an oven, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and fridge with icebox. All bed linen and towels are provided. Please note that there are no laundry facilities in the apartments.

Hotel details

In addition to the the free facilities mentioned in the Quick Description, the hotel also offers a flood-lit tennis court (astro-turf) and flood-lit soccer pitch (astro-turf), which are available at an additional cost. As well as the fabulous on-site leisure facilities, the woods surrounding the hotel are criss-crossed with pathways and cycle tracks (bike hire at an additional cost) which are perfect for jogging, cycling or just strolling amongst the wildlife. The hotel runs a summer camps for children aged 6-16 years.

Food & Beverages

Whilst you have a fully equipped kitchen in your apartment, you may choose to dine out. Options include: The Castlegates Restaurant, open for breakfast and dinner; The Idle Hour Pub, well known in the area for its vibrant atmosphere, live entertainment and traditional pub food; and The Upper Deck Bistro, which serves exciting food accompanied by a varied wine list.

Electricity and heating are an extra charge (based on individual meter readings), payable on site. A security deposit is also payable on site. All bed linen and towels are provided. Please note that there are no laundry facilities in the apartments.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 28-42 days before date of arrival, 50 percent of all nights will be charged.  If cancelled up to 8-28 days before date of arrival, 75 percent of all nights will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

A fixed amount of EUR 100 per room will be charged on the day of booking and is non-refundable.  The total price of the reservation will be charged at least 42 days prior to arrival and is refundable. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

21.5 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

This hotel has no meal services. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.  There is no capacity for extra beds in the room.  Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 1.
