It is the legitimate descendant of shining Lychida - a town whose achievements are woven into the tapestry of a powerful ancient civilization. The town of Ohrid is indeed the cultural history of the republic of Macedonia in miniature, bearing the name "The Balkan Jerusalem". Today Ohrid is cultural, spiritual and the tourist centre of Macedonia. Ohrid and lake Ohrid have been named world cultural and natural heritage sites under the protection of UNESCO since 1980. Within 200 metres of the hotel are the market, restaurants, cafes and a bureau de change. The hospital is just 500 metres from here and the bus station is 700 metres away. The airport is a 7 km drive.
