Food & Beverages

The Parkhotel’s restaurant has recently been completely redesigned and renovated. Guests can enjoy a gourmet cuisine, recently awarded with 14 points by Gault-Millau, using only the fresh produce of the local markets. The restaurant also has a cosy bar where guests can have a drink before eating or sip a refreshing beer after a long day. On sunny afternoons, coffee, afternoon tea and cakes are served in the park adjoining the hotel. In summer, dinner on the terrace can provide an unforgettable view of the snow-topped peaks of the famous Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains.

Travel information

By Car: - From the highway A1 Zurich/Bern or Geneva/Bern, take the A8 highway in Bern in the direction of Interlaken and turn off at the 'Thun-Nord' exit. - Follow the directions to Thun city centre and then the road along the lake towards Gunten and Interlaken. - Oberhofen is the third village after Thun. - From here follow the signs directing you to the Parkhotel. - A free car park is available for hotel guests. By Public Transport: There are daily Intercity and TGV trains from surrounding countries to Bern, where you have to change to a train going to Thun – Interlaken. Within Switzerland there are hourly train services to Thun. A free shuttle service to the Parkhotel is available to its guests.

Area information

The peaceful and quiet hotel overlooks the village of Oberhofen and has a magnificent view of Lake Thun and the surrounding Bernese Alps. From the airport of Bern-Belp : 22 km. From the airports of Zurich, Basle and Geneva: within 150 km. Diving School is 10 minutes away by car. Fitness centre is 5 minutes walk away.

If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

3.6 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is included. 

Meal Plan

Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 10 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.  All older children or adults are charged CHF 60.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
