A beautiful Victorian building, highly regarded, the Oaklands has been completely updated to offer all modern facilities, whilst still maintaining its ornate brick work and most of the original features. There are 3 pubs within walking distance and a bus stop right outside the door, and above all, providing access to the wonderful surroundings.

Travel information

The nearest train station is at Ruabon which is a 5 minute drive away. The bus service stops right outside the station and will bring you directly to Oaklands. There are a number of taxi companies that operate in the immediate area.

Area information

Thomas Telford's famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is only a 10-minute walk from the hotel, along the Llangollen canal footpath. The town of Llangollen is just 5 minutes away by car, while the town of Wrexham is only 15 minutes away. The beautiful city of Chester is approximately 30 minutes' journey by car. The bus service, which stops just outside the Oaklands’ gates, can take you to any of these places, if you need a break from driving.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

15 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 3 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.  All children from 2 to 15 years are charged GBP 10.00 per night and person for extra beds.  All further older children or adults are charged GBP 25.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
