Danhostel Copenhagen CitySituated on the edge of the Copenhagen city centre along the harbour front, very much appreciated, the the hotel offers spectacular views over the rooftops and green copper spires of the Old Town, the Town Hall, Copenhagen's harbour and Christianshavn. Opened in 2005 this 16 storey hostel is the first and largest design hostel in Europe consisting of 1020 beds. DGI-byen is just a 15 minute walk from Tivoli and Central Station. Guests at the hotel are entitled to a 10% discount at DGI-byen that includes access to the spa, and above all, swim centre, gym, café, bowling alley, and the restaurant, Vestauranten. Gubi are well renowned for the furniture they created for New York’s Museum of Modern Art. The Danish design company Gubi created the designer furniture for Danhostel Copenhagen City. Other facilities include an internet café, highly regarded, funky lounge room with TV, bar and a restaurant that serves authentic Italian cuisine. The design magazine Wallpaper awarded the hotel with the accolade as one of the world’s ten coolest destinations for 2004.

Food & Beverages

The breakfast buffet includes, among other things, organic dairy products and freshly baked bread and is served between 7:00 and 11.30. Our lounge area is a mixture of traditional café, juice bar and shop. Relax with a newspaper or magazine while you enjoy a snack from the menu. The bar and lounge are open between 7:00 and 11:00 for Sunday to Thursday and from 7:00 until midnight on both Friday and Saturday.

Guests arriving later than 18:00 are kindly requested to contact the hostel prior to arrival. Please use the contact details available in the booking confirmation. Please note that non-members of Hostelling International (HI) must either pay an additional fee or purchase the membership card at the hostel upon arrival. Please also note that guests must bring their own bed linen and towels or rent them at an additional cost. Sleeping bags are not permitted.

Wired internet is available in public areas and costs DKK 29.00 per hour.

Buffet breakfast costs DKK 69.00 per person.  Buffet breakfast costs DKK 34.50 per child under 12 years. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  There is no capacity for extra beds/cots in the room.
