Transport to and from the courses is available. 8 km and 40 km away. Each room has en suite or private facilities. Visitors appreciate the hotel is run informally and you can come and go as you please. There is ample free private parking within the grounds, valued throughout, which is covered by CCTV.

Nethermains Lodge has 5 rooms, including double, twin and triple rooms and a family suite. All of the rooms have been recently redecorated and feature a beautiful, fresh modern décor. Each room has en suite bath/shower facilities or private bath/shower facilities. A trouser press is available on request. There is also a DVD library of films for children and for adults, with a DVD player available on request.

During your stay, your hosts will be the Cairney family, with the house being run by Margaret Cairney. The house has a maximum of 5 bedrooms each complete with en-suite or private bathroom facilities. The house offers great value for money and is in an ideal location for those exploring the beauty of West Scotland. We look forward to welcoming you to Nethermains Lodge and ensuring your stay in Scotland is an enjoyable and relaxing time. There is a non-smoking policy throughout the house, although there are sheltered smoking facilities provided.

Travel information

By Car: From Prestwick Airport and Troon: - Follow signs to pick up the A78 to Greenock. - Do not take the Irvine turn-off. Continue on through the Eglinton Exchange roundabout. - Stay on the A78 until you approach the next roundabout, named Penny Burn roundabout. - Drive all the way around the roundabout and come back down on the other side of the dual carriageway. - Continue for approximately 5 minutes (signposted Ayr/Irvine). - Take the first turning on the left (signposted Kilwinning, Beith). - The lodge is situated on the right-hand side as you leave the A78.

Area information

Nethermains Lodge is 0.8 miles (1.25 km) from Irvine’s town centre. The nearest golf course is one mile (0.8 km) away. The lodge’s convenient location means it has good access to all of the region’s major roads to Glasgow, Troon, Kilmarnock, Ayr and Largs. The local train stations are about 5 and 10 minutes’ drive away. Irvine’s harbourside, the Beach Park, the Magnum Leisure Centre, Dundonald and Royal Troon golf courses and the Bridgegate shopping centre are all within a 10-minute drive. The lodge is just 35 minutes’ drive from the spectacular scenery and stunning natural beauty of Burns' country.

Hotel policies

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

15 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 12 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All older children or adults are charged GBP 10.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
