The atmospheric dining room at the George is perfect for a quite dinner for 2, or for a group of friends or family celebrating that special occasion. The restaurant offers traditional food with a modern twist. Dishes are prepared with care and beautifully presented, and you can enjoy your meal in the dining room or in the cosy bar areas. The finest, freshest seasonal Cumbrian produce available is used whenever available and there is a selection of wines from around the world to complement your meal. The bar is full of character, with original oak beams and roaring fires. The bar is a cosy haven where locals and visitors alike enjoy the friendly atmosphere and all that is best in the traditional English pub. George is renowned for serving the perfect pint, with a great range of cask ales on offer. There is a choice of 6 cask ales from the local brewer, Jennings. The George also offers a great range of wines from around the world to suit all tastes and budgets, with over 12 different wines available by the glass.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 7 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

A fixed amount of GBP 50 per room will be charged on the day of booking and is non-refundable.
