Food & Beverages

Desert Islands Resort & Spa serves all sorts of food, be it light Arab snacks by the poolside, grilled local and imported seafood, freshly baked pastry from the delicatessen or a candlelit dinner of grilled seafood.

Guests should be advised that the room rates on both 25th December 2009 and 31st December 2009 are inclusive of the compulsory Christmas and New Year Gala Dinners. Any extra adults or children sharing the accommodation will also be charged for these special dinners, supplements (of AED 765.60 per person for Christmas Dinner, and AED 870 per person for the New Year Dinner) to be paid directly to the hotel. Some nationalities can get an entry permit stamped in their passport upon arrival at the airport. Please check your visa requirements before travelling.

Area information

Desert Islands Resort & Spa is located on the natural island of Sir Bani Yas. The island offers wildlife, archaeological sites dating back to the Stone Age, marine beauty and a unique desert island landscape. The area is perfect for game watching, fishing, diving and snorkelling, canoeing, kayaking or mountain biking. The island's bird sanctuary has a variety of native and imported birds, including the flightless African ostrich, rhea and emu, along with the Egyptian goose, partridge, crane, guinea fowl and pheasant. Flocks of pink flamingos can be seen by the hundreds in the island's mangroves and lakes.

Hotel policies

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

VAT is not applicable.  10 % service charge per room per night is not included.  6.00 % city/tourist tax per room per night is not included. 

Meal Plan

Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 12 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.  All older children or adults are charged AED 350.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
