Travel information

■ By car From Cape Town International Airport: ▪ Take the N2 towards Cape Town. ▪ Approximately 13km later take the Kirstenbosch/Muizenberg exit (M3). ▪ Continue until the 1st set of traffic lights. ▪ Turn right following the signs to Kirstenbosch/Hout Bay (M63). ▪ Continue past Kirstenbosch main gate until you reach a T-junction. ▪ Turn right up the hill (still M63) and follow winding forest road for a while. ▪ When you reach the Constantia Nek roundabout, turn right down the hill following the signs to Hout Bay(M63). ▪ Continue along Hout Bay Main Road (M63) until you see a Shell petrol station on your left. ▪ Immediately after Shell turn left into Andrews Road and then take the 1st right (Darling Road). ▪ Take the 3rd left (Skaife Road) and continue up the hill. ▪ Amblewood is the 3rd house from the top of the road (which is a dead end) on the left. The number is 43 and the name is on the gate.

Area information

Hout Bay, a former fishing village, maintains a combination of fishing harbour and country atmosphere, despite its development. Also known as "Dungeons" to the surfing community, it is one of the 16 recognised big wave spots around the globe. Other attractions in the area include fine mountain walks with indigenous plants of over 1000 species, art galleries and Sunday craft markets on the village green.

Hotel policies

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 28 days before date of arrival, 12.5 percent of all nights will be charged.  If cancelled up to 21 days before date of arrival, 25 percent of all nights will be charged.  If cancelled up to 14 days before date of arrival, 37.5 percent of all nights will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, 50 percent of all nights will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

50 percent of the total amount will be charged on the day of booking and is non-refundable. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

14 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  1 % city/tourist tax per person per night is included. 

Meal Plan

Breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

Children older than 12 years are welcome.  All children or adults are charged 50 % of the room stay per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 1.  There is no capacity for cots in the room.
