Each bedroom has its own individual style, elegantly decorated to retain the character of the building whilst being furnished to the highest standard. All rooms have an en suite bath and/or shower rooms. Superior rooms have good views over the gardens, larger beds, luxurious toiletries and Bumblebee bathrobes. Please not that all children under 2 years stay free of charge when using own travel cot and bedding.

Food & Beverages

The restaurant, recently refitted with specially commissioned handmade Cornish oak and walnut furniture, is where breakfast and dinner are served. The menu draws on recipes from all over the world, gleaned by the head chef Laurence Pratt from 15 years of service in the Royal Navy, where the VIPs he served included royalty and Heads of State. Though the menu has an international flavour, most of the ingredients are from Somerset. Meat and game come from local farms and shoots, fish from Brixham trawlers, shellfish from the Bristol Channel and many vegetables from the organic kitchen garden within the grounds. Light lunches are served in the bar as well as on the lawn in fine weather, and there is a comfortable lounge for morning and after-dinner drinks.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

A fixed amount of GBP 25 per room will be charged on the day of booking and is non-refundable. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

15 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Full English breakfast is included in the room rate.  Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years are charged GBP 10.00 per night and person for cots.  All children from 2 to 12 years are charged GBP 20.00 per night and person when using existing bedding.  There is no capacity for extra beds in the room.  Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 1.
