The hotel offers 111 rooms and suites, all furnished to an executive standard and featuring the highest quality décor and furnishings. 4-poster rooms, family rooms and rooms adapted for disabled guests are available. All of the hotel’s bright, spacious and luxurious rooms are beautifully appointed and well equipped, with all the modern comforts and facilities you need for a restful, relaxing break. Amongst may other luxurious amenities, most of the rooms include a fridge with complimentary mineral water and fresh milk. Some of the family rooms can accommodate up to 2 adults and 3 children. Nestled in mature woods and meadowland just off junction 9 of the M27, the hotel has great location from which to explore the region's many attractions, its rich maritime history and beautiful countryside and there is no shortage of places to visit all year round. Portsmouth, Southampton, Basingstoke, Winchester and the M3 motorway are all within easy striking distance and the fast train service from London means that the capital is only just over an hour away. There is free private parking for guests’ use and Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel. The impressive spa facilities include 8 spa treatment rooms, each of which is a peaceful and relaxing little place of sanctuary from the hectic world outside. The purpose-built meeting rooms are ideal for training events and conferences. Rooms and facilities suitable for disabled guests, wheelchair users and those with reduced mobility are available. The hotel has teamed up with Safehands, Britain's leading National childcare organisation, in order to offer you professional babysitting services whilst away from home. A range of children's DVDs, including Madagascar, the Harry Potter series, Shrek, Happy Feet, Over the Hedge and Robots are all available from reception. Shire Hotels was the first UK hotel group to offer all non-smoking facilities. For those who would like to smoke, the hotel has made provisions outside the hotel, with shelter and protection from the elements for smokers providing an acceptable solution. With a choice of rooms including family suites and rooms with 4-poster beds, there is something to suit everyone, whether you are enjoying a relaxing or romantic break, exploring the region as a tourist or visiting the area on business.

Food & Beverages

The hotel’s own on-site restaurant offers fine dining and an extensive menu, which changes regularly to reflect the finest, freshest produce available locally. The impressive dishes available include locally sourced, freshly caught seafood, as well as locally grown ingredients and vegetables. During the warmer months, guests can dine al fresco. From the middle of May, the restaurant moves outside and you can enjoy the warm sunshine and fresh air while sampling dishes from the hors d’oeuvres table and specialities from the grill. There is also the Parson's Collar, the hotel’s very own Thwaites on-site country pub, as well as all-day dining in the lounge and bar. Children's meals are available, but in order to preserve a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for all guests the hotel asks that families with children aged less than 12 years dine in the restaurant prior to 20:00. Children can either choose a meal from the children's Trekkers menu or they can order half portions from the à la carte menu and pay half price. We appreciate that children's appetites differ from day to day, so to make things as flexible as possible, your children can take one course from the Trekkers menu or the full 3 courses, with a drink included in both cases.

Check-In and Check-Out Information: Guests can check-in from 14:00 onwards. If you are due to arrive earlier than this, please contact reception in advance in order to inform them of your estimated time of arrival. You can contact reception by telephone or via email, using the contact details supplied on your confirmation email. Late check-outs are available on Sundays, subject to availability. Children: Children no older than 4 years can have breakfast for free. Children aged 4 to 10 years old can have breakfast for GBP 4 per child, per night. Children aged 11 to 16 years old can have breakfast for GBP 8 per child, per night. Other meals will be charged as taken. Alternatively, children can stay in their own room (subject to availability) for GBP 40 per child, per night (including bed and breakfast). This price is based on a minimum of 2 children no older than 16 years sharing a room. Other meals will be charged as taken. Pets: With the exception of working dogs for disabled people, the hotel does not accept pets. Smoking Policy: The hotel is non-smoking throughout. Please do not smoke in your room, as this will mean that the hotel will need to deep clean all the fabrics and furnishings after you depart and this will incur a charge of GBP 75.00.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 12:00 on the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

15 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Full English breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  Up to two children under 16 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.  There is no capacity for extra beds in the room.  Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 1.
