This romantic castle’s history dates back to 1231 and offers breathtaking views over the fjord and the Faaborg harbour that leads out to the Funen Archipelago. Hvedholm has elegant rooms with canopy beds, highly regarded, which are spacious and tastefully furnished. The grand brick and sandstone façade was rebuilt by Count Bille Brahe Selby during the late 19th century. The banqueting hall from 1880 seats 150. The à la carte restaurant is among the region’s best. Each Saturday, and above all, wine tastings are held in the cellar where guests can taste 6 selected wines from Hvedholm Slot's own production and from imported sources.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later, the first night will be charged.  In case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

25 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 3 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years are charged DKK 250.00 per night and person for cots.  All older children or adults are charged DKK 250.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 2.
