During your stay you can take advantage of a free pass (one per person per stay) for the leisure facilities of the world-renowned Langdale Estate Country Club, adjacent to the Britannia. Here you can find a health and beauty salon, exercise studio, 20-metre luxury pool, sanarium, spa and squash courts.

Food & Beverages

A varied menu is served each evening, comprising of popular favourites and more unique dishes. All are prepared using the freshest, locally sourced produce, wherever possible. In the evening, advance booking is recommended. 10% is added to bills in the dining room to acknowledge the full table service. For a more informal setting, meals and refreshments are also available in the bar areas and on the patio throughout the day. The same menu is offered throughout the Inn. The 2 bars provide the perfect venue for a relaxing drink from the selection of ales and wines. Most weeks of the year on Sunday evenings a quiz is provided for a little light entertainment for all. Resident beers include Coniston Brewery's Bluebird, Jenning’s Bitter, and the inn’s own 'Britannia Special' which Coniston Brewery produces exclusively. In addition, there are 3 pumps for 'guest ales', which change after every barrel.

Please note that there is a 2-night minimum stay on weekends.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled or modified up to 2 days before date of arrival, a fixed amount of GBP 40.00 will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

A fixed amount of GBP 40 per room will be charged on the day of booking and is non-refundable. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

15 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Full English breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 1 year stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years are charged GBP 10.00 per night and person for cots.  All older children or adults are charged 50 % of the room stay per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1. 

Please note that in case specific policies apply to a particular room or rate, the specific room/rate policy prevails over the general hotel policy
