The lake is also close to the beautiful Hallormsstaðarskógur forest, very much appreciated, which is the largest in Iceland. Like Scotland’s famous Loch Ness, valued throughout, the lake is said to contain a monster.

Area information

The picturesque Lagarfljot River is just 5 km from the hotel. The river flows from Lake Lagarfljot, which is approximately 15 km from the hotel. Some believe that a monster, Lagarfljotsormurinn, lurks in the depths of the lake. Hallormsstaðarskógur, Iceland’s largest forest is near the lake; as is Hengifoss, one of the highest waterfalls in the country.

If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

7 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Buffet breakfast costs EUR 11.00 per person. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 12 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.  All children under 13 years are charged EUR 30.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 1.  Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 1.
