Car Parking
The hotel has no on site car parking but St Johns Hil NCP car park is located less than 2 minutes walk away. The car park is well sign posted on all approaches. Hotel users are entitled to a discounted price - please bring the ticket you receive when you enter the car park to reception at check in and they will validate the ticket.
By Car:
From the North:
- Take the A90.
- Follow the signs for the city centre along Queensferry Road.
- At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Queensferry Terrace and continue forward onto Belford Road, Douglas Gardens and Palmerston Place.
- Turn left onto Torphichen Street A8.
- At the end bear right, then, at the T-junction turn left onto Morrison Street B700.
- Continue forward onto Bread Street, and then bear left onto West Port.
- Continue forward onto Grassmarket, bear right onto Cowgatehead and bear left onto Cowgate.
- The hotel is situated on the left.
From the South:
- Take the A701 and continue to follow signs for the city centre or A701.
- Continue forward onto Burdiehouse Road A701.
- Entering Edinburgh at Kaimes junction continue forward onto Howden Hall Road A701.
- Continue forward onto South Clerk Street A7, passing Edinburgh University.
- Turn right onto Infirmary Street, and then turn right onto High School Yards.
- The hotel is situated on the left.
From the East:
- Take the A1 (signposted city centre) passing the Meadowbank sports centre.
- Continue forward onto London Road - A1.
- Entering Leith at the traffic signals bear left onto Montrose Terrace A1.
- Entering Edinburgh at the traffic signals turn left onto Abbeymount, signposted Royal Mile.
- At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Canongate, passing the entrance to Holyrood House (on the left).
- At the traffic signals turn left onto St Marys Street and then turn right onto Cowgate.
- The hotel is situated on the right.
From the West:
- From the M8 eastbound, follow the signs for the city bypass A720, northbound towards Edinburgh West.
- At the Gogar roundabout take the 2nd exit and then merge onto Glasgow Road - A8 (signposted City Centre).
- Entering Edinburgh continue forward onto Glasgow road and at Drumbrae Roundabout take the 2nd exit onto St Johns Road - A8 (signposted City Centre).
- At Haymarket follow the signs for Dalkeith and East, then at the T-junction turn left onto Morrison Street B700.
- Continue forward onto Bread Street, then bear left onto West Port.
- Continue forward onto Grassmarket, bear right onto Cowgatehead and then bear left onto Cowgate.
- The hotel is situated on the left.
From Edinburgh Airport:
- Follow signs for A8/City Centre until you reach Haymarket.
- Follow signs for Dalkeith and East, turn left onto Morrison Street, then bear left onto West Port, forward onto Grassmarket, bear right onto Cowgatehead and then bear left onto Cowgate.
- The hotel is on the left.
By Bus (from the airport):
- Bus services operate regularly 24 hours a day from Edinburgh Airport to Edinburgh city centre with Airlink and night buses N22, and take approximately 25 minutes.
- The drop off points are Waverley Bridge and Waverley Steps (10-15 minutes walk from the hotel).
By Train:
Edinburgh Waverley Station is 700 metres from the hotel:
- Take the exit toward Market Street.
Take the steps beside Escape Health Club to bring you up level to North Bridge. (To avoid the steps proceed up Cockburn Street which will bring you onto Royal Mile, head downward away from the Caste and follow directions as below).
- Turn right and walk to the traffic lights.
Make a left onto Royal Mile (also known as High Street).
- Walk down the street to the Museum of Childhood on the right and go down South Gray's Close just next to it.
- Go past St Patrick Church, the hotel is at the end of the close.
Edinburgh Haymarket is 2.5 km away.
By Bus (from national cities):
- Bus services from Glasgow, London and other major UK cities call at St Andrews bus station, just 900 metres from the hotel.
- Most coaches leaving St Andrews bus station also stop in other parts of Edinburgh such as Charlotte Square or Queensferry Road, before making their way out of the city.
