All guestrooms are individually designed and equipped with modern conveniences. Let us know when booking whether you prefer a bathroom with bathtub or shower. Most rooms offer a view of the Danube, the others look out over the 600-year old village of Dürnstein.

Hotel details

This Renaissance castle was built in 1630 and was owned for centuries by the Starhemberg family. During the past years it was turned into a classy hotel by its new owners, the Thiery family.

Food & Beverages

The restaurant and its unique, world-famous terrace present a wonderful ambiance for your meal. Mario Bachhofer and his team will pamper you with local delicacies and international gourmet dishes. The wine cellar features a wide range of quality wines from the Wachau and other parts of Austria, as well as the well-known international brands. For festivities of all kinds, the restaurant can seat up to 120 persons.

Wireless internet is available in the business centre and is free of charge.

Free private parking is possible on site.

Pets are allowed on request. Charges may be applicable.

Hotel policies

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 10 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, 90 percent of all nights will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

10 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is included. 

Meal Plan

Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate.  Half board costs EUR 34.00 per person. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 6 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All older children or adults are charged EUR 45.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 2.
