Area information

The hotel is just a short stroll away from the town centre, castle and cathedral (350 metres from all). Durham also provides an ideal base from which to enjoy the Beamish Open-Air Museum (8 miles), Historic Quay Hartlepool (15.5 miles) and Sunderland (11 miles). Newcastle’s vibrant city centre is also just 15 miles away and easily accessible by train. Here you can find an abundance of shops and restaurants and a lively nightlife.

Travel information

By Public Transport Durham bus and train stations are both one mile from the hotel. By Car From Newcastle Airport: - The hotel is about 30 minutes’ drive (20 miles/32 km) away from the airport. - Head towards the A1 and follow signs for Durham. - Take the A690 into the city centre. - Continue over the first roundabout. - Turn left at the second roundabout and then turn left at the traffic lights. - The hotel is on the left. Durham city centre is pedestrianised and best explored on foot. A car would be useful for trips out of town. By Air: The hotel is approximately 20 miles from Newcastle Airport.
