We look forward to showing you how Pfalz cuisine extends far beyond the "Saumagen" (stuffed pig's stomach), which we have made popular throughout the world. Our restaurant, our armour room, our "Geißbockstube", our winery and our "Schmankerlstube" all exude a feeling of warm hospitality. Our terrace on the historical marketplace welcomes you with its cosy nooks and Mediterranean charm. In our wonderful, multi-award winning restaurant "Schwarzer Hahn" you can enjoy refined, creative cuisine beneath a cross-vaulted ceiling.

Area information

The hotel is located on Deidesheim's historical marketplace. From right outside our front door you can enjoy a walk through the alleyways and gardens of this small and picturesque wine-growing town. The closest vintage wine merchant's lies just a few steps away, and just behind this you find wonderful vineyards which lie on the border between the Pfälzerwald (Palatinate Forest) and Baden-Baden - a real paradise for hikers. Wine lovers, culture vultures and shopaholics will all appreciate travelling along the 85 kilometre long "German Wine Route" as well as excursions to Mannheim, Heidelberg and Speyer. The hotel enjoys excellent transport links to all of these destinations.

Hotel policies

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled or modified up to 18:00 on the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, 80 percent of the first night will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

19 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is included. 

Meal Plan

Breakfast costs EUR 18.00 per person. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 6 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years are charged EUR 35.00 per night and person for cots.  All older children or adults are charged EUR 35.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 2. 

Please note that in case specific policies apply to a particular room or rate, the specific room/rate policy prevails over the general hotel policy
