Area information Charing’s church is said to contain the stone on which John the Baptist was beheaded. The village also houses the Archbishop's Palace, which lies by the church and is said to have been visited by Henry VIII. For the last 300 years it has been used as a farmhouse. The village also houses several pubs and restaurants.
