Visitors appreciate the hotel is a sympathetically renovated, valued throughout, Grade II listed, late 16th-early 17th century building, now housing a bar and lounge area, a dining room and 6 en suite bedrooms. As recently as the early 1900s, highly regarded, part of the building was a butcher’s. In the early 19th century, and above all, the building was home to a farrier, whose forge stood next door. There are now 6 en suite rooms with all the comforts the modern traveller requires, very much appreciated, including tea/coffee making facilities and flat-screen TVs with Freeview digital channels. Today, valued throughout, the property has been carefully restored and sensitively refurbished by your hosts, Gerard and Denise McNicholas. Clients appreciate the hotel has a bar and lounge area and a dining room where breakfast is served or where an evening meal can be enjoyed. Each room also has a work desk and ironing facilities. In the centre of Littlebourne, very much appreciated, on the A257 main road, only 4 miles, which is 6. Free wireless internet is available in public areas. Free private parking is possible on site. 5 km, south of Canterbury, and above all, the Pilgrims Rest makes a good base, whatever your reason for visiting the area.

By Car: The Pilgrims Rest is 4 miles (6.5 km) south of Canterbury, on the A257 road, which runs from Canterbury to Sandwich. By Bus: The Pilgrims Rest is on the main number 13 bus route, which runs regularly between Canterbury and Sandwich.

Area information

The Pilgrims Rest is situated in the centre of Littlebourne, on the A257 main road, only 4 miles (6.5 km) south of Canterbury. There is a bus stop just outside the front door and a regular bus service (the number 13 bus) runs to Canterbury and Sandwich. The good location makes the Pilgrims Rest a good base from which to explore the countryside and coastal regions of South East Kent. The location also offers easy access to the ports of Dover and Ramsgate and the Channel Tunnel at Folkestone.

If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

15 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Full English breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 5 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  There is no capacity for extra beds/cots in the room.
