The Castle has an excellent location just minutes away from the city sights and metres from excellent shopping. Very popular party nights are held on Fridays and Saturdays. Delicious food is available in the restaurant, valued throughout, and private functions can be catered for, on request. Please be aware that these go on into the early hours and may not suit all guests.

The talented kitchen team serve delicious, freshly prepared and locally sourced food downstairs - look out for the specials board!

Our very popular DJ nights are held on Fridays and Sauturdays, please be aware these do go into the early hours and are lively so some music sound may be heard from below. Please also note our bedrooms have shared bathroom facilities, thank you.

Travel information

On Foot From the train station: Walk out of the station and continue straight up Station Road. Turn right onto Hills Road. You will now be on St Andrews Street. The Castle is further along on the left-hand side. By Bus. Drummer Street bus station is just 2 minutes away from The Castle. By Car The Castle is easily reached by car, but has no car park. Parking is available nearby at the Lion Yard car park at an additional cost.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

15 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Full English breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 12 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  There is no capacity for extra beds/cots in the room.
