All the highlights of Budapest can be easily reached from Balassi Gellert Hill Guesthouse. The most famous tourist sights are only a walk away (the Fortress on Gellert Hill, the Royal Palace on Castle Hill, the city centre with the pedestrian street Vaci utca, etc.) and access to the public transport system is excellent as well (the bus stop is only a short walk away from the building and there is a night line that can take you home at any time).

By public transport from the airport (1 to 1,5 hours!): - Take the BKV plus airport bus to the terminus (Köbánya-Kispest). - Change to the subway (starts only in one direction) and get off at the ninth stop (Ferenciek tere). - Coming up from the subway take the steps on your left. - You reach a bus stop next to a church by walking 20 metres straight ahead. - Take bus no. 8 or 112 and get off at the third stop (Mészáros u.). - Walk up across the street on Harkály street. - Cross Alsóhegy street at the end of Harkály street and take the steps up at the beginning of Somlói street to reach the hostel (approximately 300 metres' walk uphill). By public transport from the Déli (south) railway station: - Take tram no. 61 towards Móricz Zs. Tér. - Get off at the fourth stop (Hegyalja út), where you'll see Hotel Novotel on your right-hand side. - Change to bus no. 8 or 112 (the stop is beside restaurant Arany Hi­d) and get off at the first stop. - Proceed as stated above. By public transport from the Nyugati (west) railway station: - Take the subway towards Köbánya-Kispest. - Get off at the third stop (Ferenciek tere). - Coming up from the subway take the steps on your left. - Proceed as stated above. By public transport from the Keleti (east) railway station: - Take bus no. 78 at the station. - The bus passes under the Elizabeth bridge (Erzsébet hi­d). Get off at the fifth stop after the bridge (Zsolt u.), which is the next stop after the one at a MOL petrol station. - Walk 200 metres straight ahead in Mészáros street. - At the corner of Hegyalja Street (Hotel Charles) you should cross this main street. - Walk uphill on Harkály Street. Cross Alsóhegy Street at the end of Harkály Street. Take the steps up at the beginning of Somlói Street to arrive at the hostel (approximately 300 metres uphill).
