Voted Brighton's Favourite Sauna for 2008 at the annual Golden Handbag Awards ceremony, the Amsterdam Sauna offers a large, men-only sauna and steam room, a chill-out area with exercise machines and a flat-screen LCD TV. There are also additional relaxation rooms and showers. The hotel has a brand-new lift, offering easy access to all floors. The hotel does not have a car park, but 24-hour parking permits for on-street parking in the area around the hotel are available from reception at an additional cost.

Food & Beverages

A continental breakfast is served from 08:30 to 10:00 (and until 11:00 on Sundays). A freshly cooked English breakfast is available at a small additional cost in the restaurant until 11:00. Lunches and dinners are available from 11:00 until 19:00. The freshly cooked food ranges from light bites to 3-course meals and includes a range of vegetarian dishes, all prepared on site by the hotel’s experienced chefs. The sea-facing bar is open until late and room service offers drinks and snacks 24 hours a day.

If you are due to arrive later than the advertised check-in times, you must contact the hotel.

Wireless internet is available in public areas and is free of charge.

Public parking is possible at a location nearby (reservation is not possible) and costs GBP 5.00 per day.

Area information

Nestling between the South Downs and the English Channel, on the stunning south coast, Brighton is a rich mix of Regency heritage, boutique shopping, arts, beachfront cool and year-round events. Centrally located, just metres from the beach and only 5 minutes from Brighton Railway Station, the hotel is within easy reach of all of the bars, clubs, restaurants and cafes. Brighton Pier, the Brighton Pavilion and the fashionable shops and boutiques of the Lanes shopping district are all within easy walking distance, as are the city's many attractions. Brighton has a thriving and diverse gay scene, which ranges from funky bars to country-and-western line dancing, as well as techno and house clubs. Brighton has long been known as the number one gay seaside resort in the south of England. Much of the Brighton gay scene is concentrated in the Kemptown area of Brighton, right on the doorstep of the Amsterdam Hotel. Kemptown has become known as Brighton's Gay Village and its centre is St James's Street and the Old Steine, which together house most of the clubs, shops and bars.

If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.

VAT and city/tourist taxes

15 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Continental breakfast is included in the room rate.  Full English breakfast costs GBP 3.90 per person.

Children cannot be accommodated at the hotel.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
