Hotel details

Aarslev Estate was originally built as a farm, named after the manor Aarslev Vestergaard (Western Estate). When the main road Silkoborgvej was established, Aarslev Inn was founded on the very same place it is located today. In 1859 Aarslev Estate was sold to S. Hesselund, who earlier had been a gold digger in America. S Hesselund is in books described as a taciturn and reserved person. After several changes of ownership, Albert Kjeldsen bought the Inn, and only one month thereafter he enabled the Inn to become Royal Privileged, as one of the last of its kind in Denmark. The use of the guest book also known as, the book of strangers, was initiated in 1885 and exercised in Aarslev Inn all through the 21st century. As it appears in the guest book many Danish celebrities stayed at the Inn as well as many foreign politicians, businessmen, royalty, and actors. After multiple ownership transfers, Helnan International Hotels took over Aarslev Inn & Hotel in 2007 and renamed it to Helnan Aarslev Hotel. With headquarters in Denmark, Helnan International Hotels is founded by Enan Galaly who in 2005 after a long career in hotel and tourism industry was signed with an official royal degree of Knight of Dannebrog. Helnan International Hotels is already preparing comprehensive modernization and development plans for the hotel.

Food & Beverages

The á la carte restaurant Det Rustikke Landkøkken, which translated is the rustic countryside cuisine, takes its name from the combination from how the chefs prepare the food and serve the dishes. The inspiration is mainly from favoured rustic French cooking traditions. However this has not been a limitation to the assortment of dishes, on the contrary, the menus boast local customary dishes from all over the world. For more than a century the present Helnan Aarslev Hotel has been located by Silkeborgvej. Inspiration and innovation is the foundation of the restaurant. The creativity is an ongoing process of knowledge sharing across the Food and Beverage departments. Every third month the menus are changed and adapted to the season.
