This hotel enjoys a long history, as the original Kurhaus am Burgsee was formerly a sugar factory, transformed in 1851 into a hotel. Today it offers outpatient facilities for physiotherapy as well as a clinic for patients suffering from scoliosis. It is possible for guests to use the indoor swimming pool of the nearby Park Clinic free of charge.

Food & Beverages

Our stylish Kurhaus Restaurant offers a unique and breathtaking view of the picturesque Burgsee Lake and serves breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and coffee as well as dinner. Come and enjoy regional Thuringian cuisine as well as international and Mediterranean fare. Opening times: Monday - Saturday from 11:00 to 23:00 Sundays from 10:00 to 23:00 Hot food is served from 11:30 to 22:00 and there is a smaller menu served from 14:00 to 18:00 On Sundays we serve a large brunch buffet from 10:00 to 14:00

Guests planning on arriving after 22:00 are kindly asked to contact the hotel in advance.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled or modified up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, 80 percent of all nights will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

19 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  EUR 1.10 city/tourist tax per person per night is not included. 

Meal Plan

Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.  All older children or adults are charged EUR 26.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 1.  Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 2.
