Please note that the reception may be unattended when you arrive. In this case, please check-in on the other side of the building, in the shop at Boterstraat 20-22.

Area information

You’ll find the hotel in the heart of Alkmaar’s historical town centre. If you come by train, it's a 10-minute walk to the Familie Hotel Alkmaar. Alkmaar is a traditional Dutch city, known for its authentic cheese markets in the summer season. You can visit the cheese market every Friday morning from 10:00 till 12:30 on Waag Square. The artist village of Bergen is nearby and you can see the work of various local artists in several galleries. Bergen also has lovely shops and a charming town centre. Within 15 minutes you can drive from the hotel to the coastal village of Bergen aan Zee and Egmond aan Zee, with their beaches along the North Sea. The capital of the Netherlands, Amsterdam, is only half an hour’s drive away. If you visit the Netherlands, you cannot forget to visit Amsterdam with its lovely canals, markets and art galleries.

Hotel policies

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 5 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, 30 percent of all nights will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

6 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  EUR 1.75 city/tourist tax per person per night is not included. 

Meal Plan

Breakfast costs EUR 12.50 per person. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 3 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 2.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
