St Francis Xavier Memorial (14 minute walk from JR Yamaguchi Station) Holds protraits and various materials relating to the famous missionary, St Francis Xavier and Christianity in Japan. Rurikoji Temple (Five-storied Pagoda) (10 minute walk from Kencho-mae Bus Stop) Located inside Kayama Park, this five-storied pagoda is said to be one of the most elegant of its kind in Japan. Built in 1442, it combines Japanese and Tang Dynasty-style architecture and is designated a national treasure.
