Also included are free leisure facilities at a nearby Country Club in Bowness, to complete your perfect short break. Crompton House Bed and Breakfast Guest House is ideally situated within easy walking distance of the villages of Windermere and Bowness on Windermere, with ferry access to Ambleside and Lakes end. Cumbria is a true walkers dream. Walks ranging from ambling strolls to longer, scenic fell walks begin right outside. Crompton House Bed and Breakfast Guest House is a strictly Non-Smoking Guest House retaining lots of Victorian character. The warm friendly atmosphere creates a relaxed and homely feel. Free car parking and internet access are included. Windermere and Bowness on Windermere offer a fantastic selection of restaurants and bars to suite all palates and purses. Local attractions include the recently refurbished ‘World of Beatrix Potter’, Steam boat museum and Wordsworth Rydal Mount and Dove Cottage, at nearby Grasmere.

Payment Information: If paying by credit card, a 2% surcharge will be added to your account. Neither payment nor reservation by American Express is accepted. The guest house does not accept Visa Electron cards to secure a reservation. However, Visa Electron cards can be used to settle your account. Other information: When booking, please provide a time of arrival and a mobile telephone number. A minimum 2-night stay is required at weekends (either Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday). A minimum 3-night stay is required on all public holidays, including New Year. There are no time restrictions, although guests returning late at night must keep noise to a minimum; respect must be given to other guests and neighbours. Leisure Facilities: Please note that the leisure facilities are at a nearby country club a few minutes’ drive away and not on site.

Hotel policies

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 7 days before date of arrival, the first night will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

100 percent of the first night will be charged on the day of booking and is non-refundable. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

15 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Full English breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

Children older than 8 years are welcome.  One child under 4 years stays free of charge when using existing bedding.  There is no capacity for extra beds/cots in the room.
