Rooms

The hotels main priority is for guests to feel relaxed and comfortable in a fresh and clean environment. Each of the 16 non-smoking, en suite rooms varies in shape and size, some with roof features and exposed beams, others with high ceilings, no room is the same. Dressed with bespoke soft furnishings, luxury 1200 pocket mattresses, Philips 20 inch flat-screen TV’s, aromatherapy toiletries, hairdryers, iron boards (available at reception), tea, coffee and hot chocolate making facilities. There are 4 rooms located on the ground floor and, due to our detached location in Windermere, most of the rooms on the first and second floors have excellent views over trees and roof-tops to the surrounding countryside. Because the hotel understands that you are here to relax, the lodge provides you with a key so you can come and go as you please. In return, the lodge simply asks that other guests’ relaxation is respected by keeping noise to a minimum.

On the first floor there is an open lounge area furnished with Chesterfield sofas, Brinton carpet and original stained glass windows which provide panoramic views across Windermere to the fells beyond. A relaxing area, here you can sit with a book or newspaper and pass the time away, or catch up on the day’s events. From the lounge, you can descend the original pitch pine wooden staircase to reception which features, again, luxury Briton carpet, hand-made wooden features, a grandfather clock and William Morris wallpaper.

Food & Beverages

The lodge serves a Cumbrian Breakfast (08:30 - 09:30), which can be enjoyed in either of the 2 bright, spacious and tastefully decorated dining rooms. In one of the rooms is a charming grandfather clock. As the lodge is only 2 minutes from the centre of the town, it has selected to only cater for breakfasts, so you can enjoy the many restaurants and bars in the town.

Please be advised that the check-in times are quite rigid, if you are later then the specified check-in time, please advise the hotel at least 2 days prior to arrival, in order for arrangements to be made. Payment information: Please note this hotel does not accept American Express.

Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel and is free of charge.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled or modified up to 2 days before date of arrival, a fixed amount of GBP 50.00 will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

A fixed amount of GBP 50 per room will be charged on the day of booking and is non-refundable. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

15 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Full English breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  Extra beds are not available.  There is no capacity for cots in the room.
