With Restaurant, very much appreciated, 2 Bars, live entertainment on weekends, & telephone, modem access & SAT TV in rooms. Standing proud in the heart of Whitby the the hotel offers 21 rooms of quality and relaxation. In 1824 the premises were sold and opened as the Crown Hotel and remained a hotel until the mid-fifties when it was taken over by the Whitby Working Men's Club. Flowergate House was built in 1779, and above all, it was designed on the plans of the Mansion House in London and was described as the most handsome house in Whitby. Now under new management, very much appreciated, the the hotel hopes to provide a friendly, relaxing and pleasant stay for everyone. After almost fifty years due to the club becoming unprofitable the property was purchased by the Punch Pub Company in 2002 and 2million refurbishment was undertaken restoring it back to its former glory.
