Cancellation policy

Reservations must be cancelled 2 days in advance of your arrival date. In the event of a no show or a cancellation in breach of this policy, 75% of the cost of the reservation will be charged. The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise credit cards prior to arrival.

Hotel details

Built some time in the late 1800s the Chandlers Hotel has a history that may be linked to Thomas Hardy, whose sketches match various aspects of the hotel’s architecture. The current proprietors closed the hotel for a year after purchasing the property in 2001, in order to carry out a meticulous and careful refurbishment. The drawing room has been converted into a comfortable lounge, containing a comprehensive licensed bar. A separate dining room is available for breakfast, where a variety of options are cooked to order, according to your requirements. The emphasis is on fresh, local produce (where possible) and Vegetarian choices are available. With flexible times, relaxed music and a selection of newspapers and magazines; breakfast at Chandlers is a distinctly leisurely experience.

Travel information By car: - Follow A354 to Weymouth. - When you reach Manor Roundabout take the 1st exit into Dorchester Road. - Continue until the road divides into one-way system. - Take the left hand lane for the sea front. - This will almost immediately bring you to Westerhall Road. Chandlers Hotel is on the left. Parking: 2 car parks are available to guests, free of charge. They are located at the front and rear of the building. By train (from Weymouth Station, 0.5 miles / 800 metres): - If on foot, exit the station onto King Street. - Head towards the sea front. - Turn left (onto The Esplanade). - Continue on this road until it forks. - Take either fork and follow it around into Westerhall Road, where the hotel is situated.
Area information Radipole Lake (1 mile / 1.6 km) - this RSPB reserve includes a visitor centre that offers superb views across the lake as well as offering guided walks and talks. Nothe Fort (2 miles / 3.2 km) - situated at the mouth of Weymouth Harbour, this mid 19th century fort offers fascinating architecture, a large collection of artifacts, magnificent views and plays host to events and exhibitions in the courtyard. Jurassic Coast (up to 46 miles / 75 km in either direction) - Weymouth is situated in the centre of a 152 km section of beautiful and largely unspoilt coastline, designated a World Heritage Site. Renowned for its beauty, the coast also provides a complete geological record of the Jurassic period and a rich fossil account.
