Area information The province of Almeria is one of Spain's best-kept secrets. Largely unknown until relatively recently, Almeria has more than 3,100 hours of sunshine each year, which makes it the hottest province in Andalusia. Vera Beach Club is just a stroll away from the beautiful sandy beach where you can swim and indulge in a range of waterspouts, and only a few minutes drive from the fishing village of Garrucha, where you can eat at some of the best fish restaurants to be found in Spain. This area is a golfer's paradise - there are four 18 hole golf courses in the vicinity of Vera Beach Club, as well as Desert Springs Indiana, Europe's first Arizona-style desert golf course, with unique features such as springs, watercourses, dry river beds and rock and cactus areas. The small but fascinating theme-park, Mini Hollywood, is just a forty-minute drive from Vera Beach where cinema history was actually made. Nature lovers should visit El Cabo de Gata, a protected reserve with numerous little -known species of flora and fauna. Travel information Directions from Almería airport Leave the airport direction MURCIA, and continue along the motorway until exit nª520 (aprox.90km) marked LOS GALLARDOS /TURRE/ MOJACAR / BEDAR. Continue direction GARRUCHA, continue driving (not go in to Garrucha) until you find a large roundabout (see map) where you should follow direction Villaricos / San Juan de los Terreros, after 100 metres along turn right on the street (direction to PLAYAS DE VERA) and aprox.300 m. down this street you will find the Vera Beach Club Reception on your right hand side. Directions from Alicante airport Leave airport and follow signs for A7/ MURCIA, and join motorway in the direction of MURCIA. Stay on motorway, and on the outskirts of Murcia, follow two large signs for ALMERIA/GRANADA. This will bring you onto the E15/N340 motorway to Almería. Continue on to exit 529 signposted VERA. Continue direction GARRUCHA, until a large roundabout (see map ) where you should follow direction Villaricos / San Juan de los Terreros. and 100 metres you have to turn on the first exit on your right side (you will see the sing PLAYAS DE VERA). Aprox. 300 metres down this road you will find the Vera Beach Club Reception on your right hand side.
