Area information Saint Sofia (700 metres) - A magnificent church which is also a basilica with a dome. Its interior is characterised by unique artistry and technical perfection. Saint Dimitrios (1 km) - The restored church of St. Dimitrios is one of the most brilliant basilicas built by the Byzantines and constitutes the largest church (in capacity) in Greece. The White Tower (1.5 km) - Dominating Thessaloniki's seaside avenue, the tower is the most characteristic monument in the city and it is the last remnant of the medieval fortification. Archaeological Museum (2 km) - Thessaloniki’s Archaeological Museum is home to impressive findings from the area of Macedonia, dating back to the archaic and classical years. You can see the astonishing findings of Vergina. Travel information By Car: - Take the Athens-to-Thessaloniki national road. - Drive along the national road from Athens to Thessaloniki. - When you reach 26th Oktovriou Street turn left and on the next road, turn right and then turn right again to Dodekanissou Street. - Drive through Dodekanissou Street until you reach Salaminos Street (the extension of Dodekanissou Street). - At 3 Salaminos Street stands Mediterranean Palace. By Car (from Makedonia Airport): - Drive through Georgikis Scholis Avenue, heading towards Thessaloniki. - Continue driving in the same direction and pass through Ethnikis Antitsasis Avenue, Vasilissis Olgas Avenue and Vasileos Georgiou Avenue. - When you reach Y.M.C.A. Square, turn left to Tsimiski Street until you reach Politechniou Street (the extension of Tsimiski Street.) - Turn left to Salaminos Street where the hotel is.
