Hotel details

The Stag at Redhill has a long and distinguished history. It started life as Stratford’s court room and jail, very evident when you walk around and see the original cell door and many of the original cell windows cast in iron. Now The Stag is a traditional inn with original features preserved as best they could. We have a traditional bar, a carvery available Saturday and Sunday lunch times as well as our full menu and specials boards. The menu is just as welcoming. Whether it’s dinner for 2 or more, a relaxed Sunday roast or a business lunch, there’s something wholesome and delicious to suit. The excellent children’s menu will have younger guests licking their lips as well, and there will be a whole host of special daily menus and themed evenings happening throughout the week Of course, location counts too, and The Stag’s couldn’t be better. Definitely a rural inn, it rests contently in the Warwickshire countryside that has been its home for hundreds of years. Yet it couldn’t be easier to find, as it sits proudly on the A46 between busy Stratford and sleepy Alcester. Hunting this particular stag will be a doddle. There’s plenty of parking as well as 10 comfortable rooms that guarantee a relaxed stay. We all look forward to seeing you soon.

Area information

Stratford-upon-Avon is situated in the heart of the English midlands. A market town dating back to medieval times, Stratford is most famous as the birthplace of the Elizabethan playwright William Shakespeare, known to the locals as “Billy Wobblestick”. England's historic heartland covers an area of outstanding natural beauty and encompasses a wealth of attractions. A region of dramatic contrast, from the rolling Cotswold Hills and the heritage of Shakespeare country, to the peaceful marches of the English and Welsh borderlands. The chocolate box image of traditional England is epitomised by the peaceful villages of The Cotswolds. Here you will find picturesque cottages, flower bedecked cottages and imposing manor houses. You will also find bustling market towns set in breathtaking countryside, just waiting to be explored.
