All our rooms are comfortably equipped with a TV, safe, mini bar, central heating, bath room with hair dryer, bath & toilet. Our Superior or Deluxe rooms are even larger with a luxurious bath room with bath and shower. Moreover, most of the superior rooms have a balcony with a stunning view on the picturesque surroundings. The rooms at the front of the building overlook the spacious terrace. At the rear side of the building, our guests can have a superb view from their balcony onto the magnificent panorama of the historic city protection walls of Sluis. The hotel features 64 luxurious rooms and 1 bridal suite.

De Dikke Van Dale - Hotel a 4-star property, is situated in the historical city of Sluis. The hotel has been named after the Dutch compiler of the Dikke van Dale dictionaries - J.H. Van Dale - who was born in Sluis.

Food & Beverages

Gastronomic restaurant Restaurant "Johan Hendrik" is the gastronomical heart of the hotel. It has a rustic character and is decorated in Louis XIV style. On the menu you will find classical French dishes with a modern tint. Moreover, head Chef Jan Hein Jonker lets the menu guide by the different seasons. He serves only the best, fresh products en specialities from the local area. If the sun is shining it is possible to have your dinner on the terrace. High Tea It is a pleasure to inform you that we serve an English High Tea in hotel de Dikke van Dale. Our weekly High Tea is being served on Sundays between 12:00 and 16:00 hour in our exclusively restaurant. You can enjoy different sweet and tasty specialties accompanied with tea, fruit juices and sodas.

Please note, the Hotel allows pets on request (maximum 1 per room) and will charge EUR 27.50 per day.

Internet via modem is available in public areas and is free of charge.  Wireless internet is available in public areas and is free of charge. 

Parking

Private parking is possible on site (reservation is not possible) and costs EUR 3.95 per day.

Hotel policies

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

VAT is included.  Service charge is included.  EUR 1.12 city/tourist tax per person per night is not included. 

Meal Plan

Continental breakfast is not included and costs EUR 15.00 per person.  Continental breakfast costs EUR 7.50 per child under 12 years.  Continental breakfast is free of charge for children up to 3 years. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 3 years are charged EUR 10.00 per night and person for cots.  All older children or adults are charged EUR 25.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 2.
