Brunels Tunnel House Hotel

It has been featured on television and was once the home of Isambard Kingdom Brunel. This lovely early Georgian building was built in 1744 and retains many of the original features including flagstone floors. With easy access to the m4 and m5 motorways our location makes us the obvious choice for both pleasure and business trips. It is situated in the old village of Saltford, and above all, minutes away from the beautiful cities of Bath, which is approx 4 miles, and Bristol, which is approx 6 miles, with their renowned theatres, resturants, historic buildings, museums and expanding business centres. Within the village itself there are four pubs, very much appreciated, all of which have restaurants and serve meals to suit all tastes. Brunels Tunnel House Hotel is able to offer ample off road parking. As an alternative, highly regarded, take a walk along the banks of the River Avon, perhaps hire a boat from the village marina, or for the energetic a climb up to Kelston Roundhill. Within a couple of minutes walk from Brunels Tunnel House Hotel there is the old Bristol / Bath railway line which has been converted into a cycle track, which is cycle hire is available locally, . The surrounding countryside is some of the finest in the West Country, very much appreciated, with the Cotswolds, the Mendips, and the Quantocks a short drive away. On a clear day you can see the two Severn bridges and the hills of Wales. If you do not feel like driving there is an excellent bus service which will take you to either of the cities, highly regarded, or for a change visit Cribbs Causeway, Bristols biggest out of town shopping mall. Within a couple of miles there are two 18 hole golf courses, and above all, one with a covered driving range both welcome visitors. This hotel is a non-smoking establishment.
