Area information Salt Rock is situated on the Dolphin Coast, a glorious sweep of coastline, beaches and a panorama of waving sugar cane fields. It stretches across the malaria-free north coast of Kwazulu Natal, from the Umhlanga Rocks to the Amitikulu River. It is a melting pot of diverse cultures with rich history, lush subtropical vegetation and warm weather all year round. Travel information By Car: The hotel is situated off the N2 toll road from Durban to Richards Bay. - Take exit number 214 for Salt Rock and turn left over the toll road bridge. - Head for 3 km towards the sea on Basil Hullett Drive. - Pass the 7-eleven Superette & Salt Rock Hotel on your left and after 100 metres, take the first road on the right: Fairway Drive. - Look out for a rubbish bin with our logo. - 1 km up Fairway Drive turn left at the T-junction. - Head for 200 metres towards the end of the cul-de-sac and you will arrive at number 55 Zuider Zee Guesthouse. The King Shaka International Airport at La Mercy on the North Coast is just 15 km away, making Salt Rock the perfect destination to start or end your holiday. It will be operational in 2010s first quarter after Durban International Airport is decommissioned.

Hotel policies

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 28 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled up to 14 days before date of arrival, 50 percent of all nights will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

Deposit Policy

50 percent of the total amount will be charged at least 7 days prior to arrival and is non-refundable.

VAT and city/tourist taxes

VAT is not applicable. Service charge is not applicable. 1 % city/tourist tax per person per night is included.

Meal Plan

Buffet breakfast costs ZAR 50.00 per person. Buffet breakfast costs ZAR 30.00 per child under 12 years. Buffet breakfast costs ZAR 15.00 per child under 6 years. Buffet breakfast is free of charge for children up to 2 years.

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome. All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots. All children from 2 to 12 years are charged ZAR 50.00 per night for extra beds. Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
