Park Hotel Rovio

A comfortable hotel on the south-side of the magnificent Monte Generoso, very much appreciated, in the typical Ticino village of Rovio, located 2 km from the lake and 15 km from Lugano. Special Promotions available in November 2007. For those who want a more active holiday there are 2 heated swimming pools, which is one for children, highly regarded, one for adults, in the park, which is approximately 7000 square meters, . A delightful park and lawn invite you to sunbath and siesta and offer an extensive view of the lake Lugano and its surrounding mountains. The Park Hotel offers a Fitness room, very much appreciated, sauna, solarium Hydromassage and beauty treatment on appointment. For children there is a kindergarten and mini zoo in the park. Our hotel is ideal for families and offers hiking trails in the surroundings.

A la carte restaurant with regional and international specialities. For all our younger guests, we offer a special kids list. During high season there is a pizzeria with pasta. Breakfast time: from 08:00 to 10:00 (on request at the reception desk, we can arrange for your early breakfast) Lunch time from 12:00 to 14:00 Dinner time from 18:45 to 21:00 Half board possible with an extra charge of CHF 25 per day per person. (4-courses menu) Half board available only if booked for the entire stay.

Area information The village is situated on a sunny terrace on Monte Generoso and enjoys a mild climate. It is overlooked by the pyramid-like silhouette of Monte St. Agata. Its territory extends up to the summit of Monte Generoso. Its origins are very old, as proven by various archaeological diggings; tombs have been found from both the Bronze Age and the Roman Period, as well as a stele dating back to several centuries before Christ. Rovio is the birth place of numerous artists: the Carlonis, the Baguttis, and the Mazzettis among others. Rovio is situated 2 Km from the lake and 15 minutes driving distance from Lugano. 10-Km Mendrisio,15 km Chiasso, 5-Km Campione d'Italia-7 Km Morcote. Travel information By Car: Motorway A2 from North: - Leave the Motorway in Melide/Bissone take the direction of Bissone. - When you arrive in Melano Garage tamoil-Gasoline (TOYOTA) turn on your left and continue until to the Red Church of Rovio. - Turn left again and about 150 metres after you will arrive to the Parkhotel /hotel del Parco Motorway A2 from South: - Leave the Motorway in Mendrisio, take the direction of Capolago-Lugano by Cantonal street until Melano. B - efore the Garage of Tamoil-Gasoline (TOYOTA), turn right and continue until the Red Church of Rovio. - Turn left and about 150 metres after you will arrive to the Parkhotel /hotel del Parco By Train: The nearest Rail Stations are: Maroggia-Melano Lugano Mendrisio By Plane: The nearest Airports: Lugano-Agno: about 30 minutes from Rovio) Milano Bergamo: about 1hour and 30 minutes from Rovio.
