Rooms

Hotel New York has 72 rooms, including two tower rooms and a penthouse. All the rooms vary in shape, size and colour, are non-smoking, have heigh ceilings and most offer a view of the river. The former executive suites remained in a reasonable state of repair: rosewood and walnut panelling and an authentic carpet. Some of those rooms may be furnished as honeymoon rooms. Hotel New York does not include a minibar in the rooms, since the hotel offers a 24-hour room service. Breakfast is not included. The hotel has a café-restaurant which seats 400 guests, where one can eat either à la carte, extensively or simply, in all price classes, from early in the morning to late at night. There is an oyster bar and tea salon. A true meeting place for both locals and travellers, surrounded on all sides by river views, with the city accross the way.

On the outside, the former head office of the Holland-Amerika Lijn has a cosmopolitan feel: its facade is symmetrical in design, with balconies, dormer windows, towers and decorations; the style to which most grand hotels built around 1880 adhered. In addition, the building is magnificently situated, with views of the city's skyline, the harbour and the river - another precondition for a Grand Hotel. At night you can experience the peace and tranquillity of a hotel on the waterfront. From the building's many vantage points, you can watch the often spectacular sunsets, while the windows afford views of the clouds and city lights. Hotel New York has two towers, both of which are hotelrooms. While 19th century hotels had carriages with a regular coachman, and later a limousine with chauffeur, this hotel offers the services of a watertaxi with skipper! This means you will be in the Veerhaven (old ferry harbour) directly opposite to the hotel in 5 minutes. If you prefer to be ferried to the towncentre, you can get off at Leuvehaven.

Food & Beverages

The ground floor has a large café-restaurant which seats 400 guests, where one can eat either à la carte, extensively or simply, from a simple tomato-basil soup to a delicious piece of lobster in creamsauce, from early in the morning to late at night. There is an oyster bar and tea salon; afternoon tea is served from 15:00 to 18:00. Enjoy the sun at the terrace or in the park next to the hotel, where you can have a picknick during the summer! A true meeting place for both locals and travellers, surrounded on all sides by river views, with the city accross the way.

Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel and costs EUR 8.00 per hour.

Private parking is possible at a location nearby and costs EUR 22.00 per day.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

VAT is included.  Service charge is included.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Buffet breakfast is not included and costs EUR 14.00 per person. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.  All older children or adults are charged EUR 35.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of total guests in a room is 4.
